The Italian defense minister stated that Kyiv will not regain its lost territories

Ukraine will not be able to regain the territories it has lost since 2014, even with foreign assistance.

This statement was made by Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto in a forthcoming book by well-known television journalist Bruno Vespa, according to the Ansa news agency.

According to the defense minister, the return of these territories is now considered “impossible by everyone.”

“Russia will never give them back, and Ukraine does not have the strength to reclaim them on its own — not even with our help,” he emphasized.

Crosetto was unable to answer whether Ukraine is ready to make territorial concessions.

“It is up to them to decide what represents the greater sacrifice — the concession of territories or the continuation of a bloody war that could escalate,” he concluded.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine is ready for a diplomatic resolution of the crisis, but not at the cost of its territories. He again stressed the desire to achieve a ceasefire before the start of negotiations to resolve the conflict.
