30.10.2025 12:01Slovakia will not give “a single cent” to finance military support for Ukraine.
This was stated by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, as quoted by the Slovak outlet Denník N.
“I will not sign any guarantee for financing Ukraine with regard to military expenditures in 2026 and 2027. Slovakia will not contribute a single cent to financing Ukraine’s military expenses,” Fico said.
He called it pointless that “Europe is using European money to purchase weapons from the United States and then sending them to Ukraine.”
“If someone wants to buy ammunition or weapons from us, please go ahead and buy them — but we ourselves will not give anything to anyone. If we were more united within the European Union, we would be promoting products useful for the entire EU, and we could save a lot of money,” the Slovak prime minister added.
It should be recalled that Fico has repeatedly stated that Slovakia will not support Ukraine either financially or militarily.
Earlier, Fico also said that Slovakia would not sign credit guarantees for Ukraine backed by Russian assets.
