“60% of Pokrovsk is already under Russian control”: Ukrainian soldiers described the situation at the front
01.11.2025 16:02Poland has recorded an increase in crimes against Ukrainians.
This was reported by the Polish outlet Onet, citing its sources.
According to sociologist Przemysław Sadura, police statistics over the past two years show: a 50% increase in recorded threats against Ukrainians, a 70% rise in cases of harassment, and a 66% rise in attacks motivated by xenophobia, racism, or religious intolerance.
All groups have been targeted — young men and women, activists, and middle-aged people alike.
“On September 5, a group of young Ukrainian citizens was attacked by unknown men near a store in Warsaw’s Białołęka district. The perpetrators insulted them over their nationality, and three of the most aggressive men beat the foreigners. They shouted, ‘Go back home!’ and ‘Get to the front, Banderites!’ The attackers — men aged 28, 36, and 41 — now face charges including assault, infliction of bodily harm, insulting Ukrainian citizens on the basis of nationality, and threatening a witness to the incident,” the publication wrote.
In recent weeks, Ukrainians have also been subjected to ethnically motivated insults and attacks on public transport, in shops, and on the streets.
A Ukrainian woman named Alyona, a stylist who moved to Poland at the start of the war, said she is constantly insulted by clients, and once, an elderly woman spat at her in a supermarket.
Police report that the number of hate crimes based on nationality has risen by 41% since the beginning of the year. The most common offense has been threats of violence.
It should be recalled that Polish authorities recently detained a man suspected by security services of preparing terrorist attacks on behalf of Russia.
