Stoltenberg said NATO will not start World War III over Ukraine
10.11.2025 - 07:02Poland’s support for Ukrainians has cracked at a dangerous moment. The issue has become central in the struggle for power in Polish politics.
This was reported by Bloomberg, citing analysts and public-opinion polls.
In particular, Polish President Karol Nawrocki is showing skepticism about Ukraine’s desire to join NATO and the European Union. He and his allies from the Law and Justice party have accused migrants of receiving social benefits out of turn.
“The big question is how Nawrocki will be able to reconcile Poland’s national-security interests with the growing anti-Ukrainian sentiment among the right-wing electorate,” emphasized Piotr Buras, a senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations in Warsaw.
Earlier, Nawrocki most recently signed a law on special assistance to Ukrainians, which will lead to “the end of Ukrainian tourism.” According to him, the new law specifies benefits that will be unavailable to Ukrainian citizens who are not working in Poland.
