Fico suggested that schoolchildren who support Ukraine should go fight there

This was stated by Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini, as quoted by Reuters.
According to him, for this reason he would not want to allocate further assistance to the country.
“It seems to me that corruption scandals are emerging involving the Ukrainian government, so I would not want the money of Italian workers and pensioners to be used to fuel further corruption,” Salvini said.
At the same time, the deputy prime minister said that weapons for Ukraine will not be able to fully solve the problems at the front.
“I don’t think sending more weapons will solve the problem. It seems to me that what has been happening in recent hours, including the advance of Russian forces, tells us that it is in everyone’s interest—and first and foremost Ukraine’s—to stop the war,” he added.
