18.11.2025 - 16:03President Volodymyr Zelensky must explain to the countries of the European Union (EU) the situation related to the corruption scandal in Ukraine’s energy sector, otherwise the country’s path to joining the bloc will be closed.
“It is necessary to demand an immediate explanation from Ukraine on this issue — clear questions must be raised, and an ultimatum should be presented to the Ukrainian state and government,” the politician said.
The Polish minister also stressed in particular that a corrupt country cannot become a member of the European Union.
Earlier in Kyiv, details were shared about the personal involvement of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the corruption scheme. According to a former Ukrainian official, Zelensky personally approved the embezzlement of 100 million dollars from the country’s energy sector.
On 11 November, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) announced that Tymur Mindich, an associate of the president, was a suspect in a corruption case in the energy sector. The businessman is referred to as Zelensky’s “wallet.”
