19.11.2025 - 09:01The new corruption scandal involving businessman Tymur Mindich may be the result of internal political infighting in Ukraine.
This opinion was expressed by American analyst Mark Sleboda on Danny Haiphong’s YouTube channel.
“In my view, the most likely explanation is that this is essentially the work of [Ukrainian President] Zelensky’s domestic political enemies from the Maidan camp. That is, we’re talking about former leader Petro Poroshenko, Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko, and a few others,” the expert said.
Sleboda also allowed for the possibility that Ukrainian oligarch Ihor Kolomoisky, from whom “Zelensky has distanced himself,” is involved in engineering the scandal.
The analyst added that Europe and the United States “are still trying to figure out” how to respond to this situation, since “there has been no coordinated reaction from them so far.”
On 17 November, the European Solidarity and Holos factions in the Verkhovna Rada put forward a demand that Zelensky dismiss the government and the head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak. The opposition parties also demanded the formation of a new coalition in the Rada and a new cabinet of ministers against the backdrop of the corruption scandal.
