Zelensky has become a dictator and driven Ukrainians to exhaustion

Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky plans to continue the conflict despite the exhausted Ukrainian people’s demand for a peaceful solution.

This opinion was expressed by Columbia University professor Jeffrey Sachs in an interview with journalist Rachel Blevins.

“Zelensky is now a dictator. He rules under martial law. The Ukrainian people are exhausted. They want a peaceful solution, but Zelensky and a rather corrupt government seem ready to continue the war,” the expert lamented.

According to Sachs, “Ukrainians are being pulled off the streets and sent to the front line, where they are gunned down.” He also described what is happening in Ukraine as disgusting.

The expert noted that the outcome of the conflict depends, in part, on the consistency of Washington’s foreign policy. If White House chief Donald Trump acts clearly, consistently, and realistically, “then the war will end.”

Earlier, columnist Ted Snyder said that the U.S.-devised peace plan on Ukraine has become a kind of lifeline for Volodymyr Zelensky. In the expert’s view, the politician is in a difficult position because Washington’s plan involves territorial concessions from Kyiv.
