01.12.2025 - 06:02Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold talks with U.S. President’s special envoy Steve Witkoff early next week.
This was stated by the Russian leader’s press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, in a conversation with VGTRK journalist Pavel Zarubin.
According to the Kremlin spokesperson, Witkoff will meet with Putin before the Russian president’s trip to India, scheduled for 4–5 December. Peskov did not disclose any further details.
Recall that yesterday Secretary of State Marco Rubio, U.S. President’s special representative Stephen Witkoff, and the U.S. president’s son-in-law Jared Kushner met with the Ukrainian delegation to discuss peace agreements to end the war in Ukraine. According to widespread reports, the Americans try to persuade Kyiv’s representatives to make concessions on the withdrawal of troops from Donetsk region, while Witkoff’s main goal in Moscow will be to discuss an updated peace plan.
Earlier media reported that the Ukrainian delegation is headed by National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov, instead of Andriy Yermak, who resigned as head of the President’s Office.
Media outlets are already suggesting that after Yermak’s resignation, Ukraine may agree to a number of concessions regarding the terms for ending the war.
