Finland’s foreign minister acknowledged the need for Zelensky to submit in the event of U.S. pressure

Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen has acknowledged that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will have to comply if the United States decides to end hostilities and puts pressure on Kyiv.

Her remarks were reported by Yle.

“This could lead to Ukraine coming under pressure and being forced to accept the conditions put forward,” the politician said.

Valtonen added that the path toward resolving the conflict looks difficult.

Earlier, talks between the Ukrainian and U.S. delegations in the United States concluded. The meeting lasted about two hours before a break, after which it continued. Following the talks, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio came out to speak to journalists. He did not announce any concrete decisions, limiting himself to general statements about the need for peace and prosperity in Ukraine. Next, a visit by U.S. President Donald Trump’s special envoy to Moscow is expected.
