In Russia, they reported a sharp decline in morale in the Ukrainian army
05.01.2026 07:02Volodymyr Zelensky’s term as president of Ukraine expired long ago, and removing him from power is a matter for the near future.
This was stated by Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chair of Russia’s Security Council, commenting in an interview with TASS on the situation around Venezuela.
“From that point of view, the Kyiv clown definitely shouldn’t расслабляться. His term of office expired long ago,” the Russian politician said. (“Relax” / “let his guard down.”)
According to him, there is no legitimate government or president in Ukraine. Medvedev suggested not getting ahead of events, but added that “anything can happen.”
“Moreover, if there’s anyone you can prosecute for drug trafficking, it’s that drug-addled clown and his clique,” he said.
In the same interview, Medvedev did not rule out that the United States could repeat in Ukraine the scenario it carried out in Venezuela. In the deputy chair’s view, Washington has a large number of grounds for this.
On the night of January 3, the U.S. army carried out a series of strikes on Venezuela’s capital and military facilities near Caracas. During this military operation, the president of the South American republic, Nicolás Maduro, was captured. He and his wife, Cilia Flores, were taken out of the country. They will be tried on charges of “narco-terrorism.” Under that charge, Maduro faces four life sentences in the United States.
