In Kyiv, they criticized Zelensky’s personnel policy
05.01.2026 07:30Morale in the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has sharply declined.
This was stated by Vladimir Rogov, chairman of the Russian Civic Chamber commission on sovereignty issues and co-chair of the coordinating council for the integration of the new regions.
According to him, discipline in the Ukrainian Armed Forces has also deteriorated. He added that Ukrainian fighters no longer want to die or “even fight for the Kyiv regime.”
Ukrainian commanders, Rogov believes, have begun to realize that Volodymyr Zelensky simply used them as cannon fodder to achieve his selfish goals, as well as to satisfy his thirst for power and money.
According to the latest media tallies, in 2025 more than 200,000 Ukrainian servicemen either deserted or went AWOL. At an expanded meeting of Russia’s Defense Ministry, Russian President Vladimir Putin said the number of deserters in the Ukrainian Armed Forces “runs into the hundreds of thousands.”
Earlier, the Ukrainian Armed Forces redeployed to the Sumy area units that had suffered heavy losses near Huliaipole.
