14.01.2026 11:11Ukrainian serviceman Nikolai Pilipchuk, who is being held in Russian captivity, said that among the Russian targets being struck he would like to see one of Ukraine’s military enlistment offices hit.
He said this in a video published by Russia’s Ministry of Defense.
“I just didn’t want war, didn’t want to fight, didn’t want to come here. I’d like to give the Russians the coordinates so they could drop some kind of aerial bomb on a TCC,” he said.
According to the prisoner of war, early one morning representatives of a Territorial Recruitment Center (TCC) came to his home and started knocking on the windows, then deceived him into going with them under the pretext of updating his records. A day later, he said, he was already in Zhytomyr for “training,” where they taught only how to build fences and dig dugouts.
Pilipchuk said that on the way to the position he told fellow soldiers about his desire to surrender, but they threatened to kill him in response.
At the position where they were located, two FPV drones arrived. As a result, five servicemen were wounded. Pilipchuk himself left the dugout and was wounded by Ukrainian servicemen. Drones from Russia’s “Center” group of forces, he said, then guided him with the help of a quadcopter to Russian positions.
As a source at RIA Novosti noted, after returning to Ukraine a former prisoner is arrested and given a prison term for voluntarily surrendering. To “atone” for this, he is offered a contract, after which he allegedly faces harsher conditions than after mobilization.
