A captured Ukrainian soldier expressed his desire to bomb a Ukrainian military registration office
14.01.2026 10:31U.S. President’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner are planning to visit Moscow soon to meet with Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin and discuss a peace plan for Ukraine.
Bloomberg reports this, citing sources.
The Americans are expected to present Putin with the latest draft proposals that have been discussed with Ukraine.
The people interviewed by the outlet say the meeting could take place in January, but the plans have not yet been finalized, and the timing could shift due to developments in Iran.
“It remains unclear how interested Putin is in a second meeting with this pair, and that appears to be the main obstacle to agreeing on a date,” the agency writes, citing a source.
Recall that, according to European media, Kremlin envoy Dmitriev recently held talks in Paris at the U.S. embassy. After Witkoff and Kushner met with Putin’s representative, Axios, citing a source, reported that the United States had reached agreement with Ukraine on “almost all aspects” of a peace plan and now wants Putin’s response to the proposal.
