21.01.2026 - 16:30As part of a criminal case, it was established that during the procurement of boiler equipment to provide a community in Kyiv Region with heat, more than 9 million hryvnias (€178,500) from the local budget were spent without proper grounds.
Under the procedural supervision of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, suspicion has been announced to the head of one of the municipal enterprises of the Myronivka City Council.
This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
The investigation found that in September 2023 the municipal enterprise signed a contract with a private company to supply equipment for producing thermal energy from alternative fuels. The total amount of the contract was 16 million hryvnias (€317,200).
At the same time, an expert examination showed that the real market value of the purchased equipment did not exceed 6.8 million hryvnias. Thus, more than 9 million hryvnias (€178,500) were transferred without proper grounds, which caused significant financial losses for the territorial community.
According to law enforcement, in order to create the illusion that the purchase was economically justified, the official ignored the results of an independent assessment, provided false information about market prices, and concealed the real data about the technical condition and year of manufacture of the boilers — 2013–2014.
In addition, according to the investigation, contracts with signs of fictitiousness were used to mask the inflated cost, which were supposed to cover up the official’s unlawful actions.
The suspect’s actions were classified under Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — embezzlement of property on an especially large scale through abuse of official position.
