Zelensky once again didn’t wear a tie to his meeting with Trump

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky once again did not wear a tie for his meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump at the Davos forum.

According to photos published by the agency, the Ukrainian leader was wearing a black shirt and a black jacket resembling a blazer.

In late December 2025, Zelensky arrived for a meeting with Trump without a tie and in a suit resembling workwear. He held the meeting in a black jacket similar to a blazer and trousers. The Ukrainian leader wore a similar outfit for a meeting with the White House head in October, for a speech at the UN in September, and during a visit to Berlin for talks with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

Zelensky’s appearance has been discussed for a long time. For example, in the summer of 2025, the White House had already asked Zelensky to wear a business suit and tie for a meeting with his American counterpart.

In February, during the Ukrainian leader’s visit to the White House, a major scandal erupted over his appearance. At that time, the politician ignored the U.S. administration’s requests to dress appropriately for a meeting with Trump and appeared in the Oval Office in casual clothes.
