“Forced mobilization isn’t going anywhere”: an MP spoke about Ukraine’s shortage of mobilization manpower
10.02.2026 09:21Another signal has come from Moscow suggesting that the Kremlin is unhappy with the U.S. position in the talks on Ukraine.
This is reported by the Russian newspaper Vedomosti, citing a source close to the negotiation process.
According to the source, Russia in Anchorage was ready for territorial compromises—except on Donbas (apparently meaning it was willing to drop demands for a Ukrainian troop withdrawal from the entirety of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions)—and was also prepared to revise its demands regarding the size of Ukraine’s armed forces after the war.
“An important condition was also the establishment of broader cooperation with the United States, including economic cooperation. But for now Washington does not want to and cannot exert the necessary pressure on Kyiv, and it is also trying to push Russia out of global energy markets and continues to use sanctions, which calls into question the relevance of the ‘spirit of Anchorage,’” the source said.
In the source’s view, Moscow is still ready to continue negotiations, but taking into account the situation “on the ground,” as well as on the condition that the U.S. takes more decisive steps to pressure Ukraine and the European Union.
Recall that yesterday Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov made similar statements with complaints directed at the United States.
