Szijjártó accused Ukraine of blocking oil supplies to Hungary
15.02.2026 - 17:05EU member states are not yet ready to set a date for Ukraine’s accession to the bloc.
This was stated by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas.
On Sunday, February 15, she took part in a panel discussion at the Munich Security Conference and answered questions from attendees.
“My sense is that EU countries are not ready to name a date for Ukraine’s accession,” she said.
In January, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine is technically ready to open all clusters in the accession talks.
According to him, Kyiv will be fully ready to join the European Union as early as 2027.
On February 11, Zelenskyy wrote on Telegram that he wants to obtain a specific date for Ukraine’s admission to the EU.
Later, EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos commented on the situation. During the Munich Security Conference, she said that Ukraine would not be able to become an EU member in 2027 because of the bloc’s existing rules.
Earlier, in Hungary, officials warned the EU against fast-tracking Ukraine’s membership.
