17.02.2026 - 05:33Polish police are preparing for a surge in crime after the war in Ukraine ends.
This is reported by the outlet Wyborcza, citing sources.
According to Police Commander-in-Chief General Marek Boroń, the threat will come from Ukrainian servicemen.
“We must be aware that sooner or later many former front-line soldiers from Ukraine will appear in Poland. And so will more modern weapons, which will be in demand in criminal circles,” Boroń said.
The general noted that criminal groups are also preparing for the end of the war, expecting a spike in demand for drugs and psychotropic substances.
At the same time, he emphasized that many drug labs are already being built in Poland and Ukraine, and that the security services of both countries are cooperating to dismantle them.
Recall that in mid-August, Polish President Karol Nawrocki called for criminalizing the public display of OUN-UPA symbols and imprisoning people for it. He described Bandera supporters from the OUN-UPA as “murderers and perverts.”
After that, Nawrocki submitted to the Sejm a draft law introducing criminal liability for spreading “Bandera ideology.”
