In Romania, a Ukrainian who crossed the border on a motorized hang glider was arrested

In Romania, a 31-year-old Ukrainian citizen was detained after crossing the border between the two countries on a powered hang glider.

“A 31-year-old Ukrainian citizen is under investigation after illegally flying into Romania aboard a small aircraft,” the report said.

The incident occurred on Sunday morning in the village of Frătăuții Vechi, Suceava County. According to information provided by the Romanian Border Police, after receiving an alert about a border violation, border guards and police officers went to the location, where they found the pilot and the aircraft.

The Ukrainian citizen was taken to the headquarters of the border police in Vicovu de Sus for further investigation. A criminal case has been opened for illegal crossing of the state border and for operating an aircraft without the necessary documents confirming the right to fly.

Earlier, it was reported that a Ukrainian man drowned in icy water while trying to cross the border.
