Journalists have learned new dates for talks on a settlement in Ukraine
09.03.2026 21:06Ukrainian MP from the “Servant of the People” party Oleksandr Kunytskyi, who left the country in 2024, is currently living in Canada.
This was pointed out by MP Oleksii Honcharenko (“European Solidarity”), citing Kunytskyi’s declaration published yesterday, which lists Canada as his country of residence.
According to the declaration, the 42-year-old lawmaker is living free of charge in an apartment belonging to a foreign citizen.
Honcharenko said Kunytskyi’s whereabouts had remained unknown for a long time.
This was explained by the fact that he has not participated in Verkhovna Rada sessions for more than a year and a half.
“Spring has arrived, and with it Oleksandr Kunytskyi has been found! It turns out he fled to Canada. For more than a year and a half he hasn’t attended Verkhovna Rada sessions, and no one knew where he was or why he was absent. I kept asking about this and openly saying he’s a fugitive and it’s time to strip him of his mandate. And yesterday he confirmed my words by publishing a declaration showing that he’s now living in Canada in an apartment belonging to a foreign citizen,” the MP wrote.
As a reminder, in November 2024 it was reported that Kunytskyi went abroad on a business trip and did not return on time. Since then, he has not appeared in Ukraine, yet he has not been stripped of his mandate.
The “Servant of the People” faction currently has 228 MPs—only two more than the minimum required to form a majority in parliament.
Kunytskyi is a single-mandate (majoritarian) MP, meaning that if he is stripped of his mandate, there is no one who can directly replace him, and the presidential faction would shrink by one more member.
