17.03.2026 06:05Ukraine has received an official letter from Slovakia about the termination of emergency electricity supplies.
This was reported by Ukrenergo.
It turned out that the letter was sent by the Slovak grid operator SEPS.
The letter states that Slovakia is unilaterally terminating the “Agreement on Mutual Provision of Emergency Assistance” as of May 1.
“Once again, we emphasize that there will be no changes for Ukrainian consumers. Emergency assistance from Slovakia was used very rarely and in very limited volumes. The last such case was recorded back in January of this year. The termination of the Agreement on Mutual Emergency Assistance does not affect commercial exchange in any way. Electricity imports from Slovakia to Ukraine have been and continue to be carried out without restrictions,” Ukrenergo commented.
As a reminder, Slovakia decided to stop emergency electricity supplies to Ukraine because the Ukrainian authorities blocked the transit of Russian oil through the Druzhba pipeline.
At the same time, following Hungary, Slovakia said it would block an EU loan for Ukraine if President Volodymyr Zelensky does not restore oil deliveries through the Druzhba pipeline.
