25.03.2026 08:42U.S. President Donald Trump openly endorsed Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán ahead of Hungary’s parliamentary elections, which will take place on April 12.
The corresponding statement was published by the head of the White House on his social network, Truth Social.
In his message, Trump called Orbán a “strong and powerful leader” and stressed that he is “fighting for his country, protecting the economy, creating jobs, and stopping illegal migration.”
Trump also said that he was “proud to once again endorse Orbán for reelection” and urged voters: “Hungary, get out and vote for Viktor Orbán.” He added that he is “with him all the way” and described Orbán as “a true friend, a fighter, and a winner.”
As media previously reported, Trump had already declared his full support for Orbán in Hungary’s elections back in February.
It was also reported recently that U.S. Vice President Vance is traveling to Hungary to support Orbán ahead of the parliamentary elections.
It is worth recalling that Orbán has accused Ukraine of interfering in Hungary’s parliamentary elections on the side of the opposition.
