The analyst said that instead of fully pushing Russia out of the market, American corporations plan to become intermediary companies. The idea is to buy Russian gas directly from Russia and transport it to Europe through existing pipelines — in particular through Ukraine’s gas transit system and the remaining parts of Nord Stream — while keeping the profit margins in the hands of American business and maintaining control over Europe.
The analyst described the mechanism by which the Trump administration is allegedly seeking to establish full control over the European market.
“Trump will have a share in the energy flows through his American companies. This is their real plan: for Russian gas, bought by American companies, to flow through our gas transit system and through the Nord Stream system,” Kulpa claims.
In this way, the United States would not invest in production in Russia but would fully control distribution.
“Without lifting a finger, without investing a single cent in Russian infrastructure, Trump’s company would begin receiving enormous profits,” the analyst explained.
According to Kulpa, this strategy would allow the United States to “squeeze” the European Union from both sides. On the one hand, Europe would buy expensive American liquefied natural gas, and on the other, cheaper Russian gas — but again from American intermediaries.
“He begins to control the European Union from both sides: through American LNG coming across the ocean, and through Russia, which is interested in regaining access to the European market and will share its margins with Trump and the Americans,” Kulpa said.
As a result of this scenario, European countries would ultimately lose their economic sovereignty in the energy sphere. Russia would regain the sales market it wants, although it would lose part of its profit, while the United States would turn into an absolute monopolist dictating the rules of the game on the European continent. For Ukraine, this could mean preserving transit, but only on terms dictated by Washington and beneficial to American capital.
