31.03.2026 06:01The United States sees only one way to end the conflict between Moscow and Kyiv — through Ukraine making territorial concessions.
This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with Axios.
Zelensky expressed concern that Washington may return to a policy of pressuring Kyiv in order to force territorial concessions.
“They want to end the war. What worries me is that they see only one way to do it. <…> But why should we pay for this? We are not the aggressors,” Zelensky asked.
According to him, the White House sees no other way to stop the conflict except for the withdrawal of the Ukrainian armed forces from the territories they currently hold.
On March 30, Volodymyr Zelensky said that the peace talks “have not reached a dead end,” but that a trilateral meeting of representatives from Russia, Ukraine, and the United States is currently being postponed because the Americans are not leaving the United States. Zelensky also said that he refuses to consider Ukraine a defeated side and stressed that Kyiv will not surrender.
On March 29, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said that the United States had put forward a number of interesting proposals for settling the Ukrainian crisis, but that they were not being implemented.
