Ukraine’s decision on the Druzhba oil pipeline has caused divisions within the EU
31.03.2026 09:20The timing of a new round of trilateral talks on Ukraine has not yet been determined, but Russia is ready for dialogue on the basis of the agreements reached by Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump in Alaska in August 2025.
This was stated by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko following talks in New Delhi between the Russian and Indian foreign ministers.
According to him, negotiations on settling the conflict in Ukraine are currently on pause.
On August 15, 2025, Putin and Trump held their first full-format meeting in seven years. The summit took place at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Alaska near Anchorage and ended with statements from both leaders about “substantial progress,” though no peace agreements were signed. The politicians discussed key issues: ending the armed conflict in Ukraine, prospects for nuclear arms control, and restoring U.S.-Russian contacts in the areas of economics and security.
The Kremlin noted that a formula for resolving the territorial issue in Ukraine had been agreed upon during the talks. According to Reuters, it would involve Russian control over all of Donbas, as well as a freezing of the rest of the front line.
Earlier, Lavrov said that “the spirit of comradeship of Anchorage is evaporating.”
