U.S. President Donald Trump said that the United States “should never have gotten involved in Ukraine, which is thousands of miles away from us, across the ocean,” and called his predecessor Joe Biden “a fool.”
The head of the White House made the statement in an address to the nation.
“We are spending billions. You know, we never should have gotten involved in Ukraine. Ukraine is thousands of miles from here, across the ocean. We helped them. We had a president — just a fool: he gave them 350 billion dollars without getting anything in return, gave them so much money, spent so much ammunition,” Trump said.
It is worth recalling that earlier Trump said there should be an investigation into how Ukraine spent U.S. aid.
Trump also said that the United States is not obligated to help Ukraine, noting that his predecessor Joe Biden did so because he was “taken for a ride.”
Before that, the White House criticized Biden for providing Ukraine with weapons free of charge.
