Zelensky said he is ready to meet with Putin

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky believes that a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin could take place in the United States or in the Middle East.

He expressed this view in an interview with the Italian radio station RAI.

“I am ready for a meeting with Putin. Certainly not in Moscow and not in Kyiv. But there are many places where we could meet — in the Middle East, in Europe, or in the United States,” Zelensky said.

The Ukrainian president also spoke about the continuation of the negotiation process involving the United States, which had been focused on the Middle East.

Earlier, Zelensky proposed an alternative format for a trilateral meeting on resolving the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.

In his view, the U.S. delegation, acting as mediator in the talks, could first visit Kyiv and then Moscow. Zelensky said the American delegation would do “everything possible” to visit the Ukrainian capital. However, in Russia’s Federation Council, the proposal was called foolish and described as an attempt to “deceive” the international community.
