01.05.2026 - 06:01Support among Ukrainians for withdrawing the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Donbas in order to end the war has recently been growing.
This is shown by a poll conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology.
According to the institute, in March this option was supported overall by 33% of respondents, while in April that figure had risen to 36%. Back in January, however, it had been 40%.
Opposition to the idea stood at 62% in March and has now fallen to 57%.

At the same time, KIIS notes that there are fewer and fewer people in Ukraine who are ready to endure the war “for as long as it takes.”
According to the poll, while at the beginning of March 54% of respondents declared such readiness, by the end of April only 48% remained.
At the same time, another 4% said they were ready to endure the war for one more year, while 29% spoke of only a few more months. Another 19% declined to answer the question.

In winter, we also wrote that the number of Ukrainians supporting the idea of territorial concessions in exchange for ending the war with strong security guarantees was increasing.
At the same time, Oleksii Antypovych, head of the Rating sociological group, had said that one in six Ukrainians would like to leave Ukraine in the near future, especially men.
