SSU detains head of Zhytomyr TCC for taking bribes to grant “exemptions” from mobilization
06.05.2026 - 07:03A court in Vinnytsia approved a plea deal in the case of Oksana Yanchak, former deputy head of the city’s Territorial Conscription Center (TCC), who beat and choked a man with an active employment deferral.
This was reported by Suspilne.
Yanchak was found guilty of abuse of authority and sentenced to five years in prison. However, she was released from serving the sentence, with a two-year probationary period.
According to investigators, in September 2024 a man with an active deferral from a critical infrastructure enterprise came to the TCC. The official demanded that he sign a military registration form and waive his deferral. After the man refused, Yanchak struck him on the head and began choking him. According to law enforcement, another TCC employee also took part in the beating.
In court, Yanchak admitted guilt and expressed “sincere remorse.” The victim stated that he had been fully compensated for the damages and had no further claims against the defendant.
