
European intelligence agencies divided over stability of Putin’s power
18.05.2026 13:32The overwhelming majority of Ukraine’s residents do not trust the Verkhovna Rada and the territorial recruitment centers, while more than half of the population believes the country is moving in the wrong direction.
These are the results of a poll conducted by the sociological service of the Razumkov Centre, commissioned by the research center Kyiv Security Forum.
According to the survey data, only 1.7% of Ukrainians trust the military commissariats (TCCs), 1.4% trust the Verkhovna Rada, and just 1% trust political parties. At the same time, 51.8% of the population overall assess the direction of the country’s development negatively.
In the personal trust rankings, President Volodymyr Zelensky again trailed two other public figures. A total of 17.9% of respondents fully trust Zelensky, while 25.7% trust the head of his office Kyrylo Budanov, and 25.1% trust Ukraine’s ambassador to the United Kingdom and former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny. Budanov has been placed on Russia’s list of terrorists and extremists.
The poll was conducted from April 2 to 8. It involved 1,200 respondents over the age of 18. The statistical margin of error does not exceed 2.9%.
