Ukrainian MPs reveal details of planned tightening of reservation rules
26.05.2026 09:32The Netherlands, with the support of several European Union member states, plans to open the first migrant detention centers outside the EU within the next six months.
This was reported by Politico.
The centers are intended to house people who have been denied asylum in EU countries but are unable, for one reason or another, to return to their home countries or remain in a transit country.
In addition to the Netherlands, Greece, Germany, Austria, and Denmark are expected to make use of such centers. The specific countries where these facilities will be opened have not yet been named. According to the publication, negotiations with a number of states are already underway.
