Magyar proposed Hungary as a venue for negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow
03.06.2026 10:01Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has stated that the West has distorted the global information agenda by presenting all events exclusively through the lens of Ukraine.
She made the remarks in an interview with Izvestia.
“There is a literally forcible Ukrainization of the political angle, across the entire agenda: economics, culture, humanitarian affairs,” Zakharova said.
According to her, the topic of Ukraine in the global information agenda is today being discussed just as actively as the topic of international terrorism was in the 1990s and 2000s, when all aspects of public life were assessed through that lens.
A similar position was previously expressed by Zoltan Koshkovich, an analyst at the Hungarian Center for Fundamental Rights. He said he had observed the process of “Ukrainization” in Kyiv from 2014 to 2022 and “knew it would end in tragedy.” Now, in the analyst’s view, the same process is taking place in Northern and Western Europe. Koshkovich expressed doubt that this process could be stopped, but voiced hope for possible resistance to it in Poland.
Putin’s envoy had also previously spoken of a “most brutal” information war against Russia.
