Russia’s Foreign Ministry promises “tough practical measures” after strike on bus in Yenakiieve
03.06.2026 10:30Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar said that Hungary is ready to provide diplomatic assistance in resolving the conflict in Ukraine and to serve as a venue for negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow.
He made the statement in an interview with the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
Magyar also expressed the view that arms and military equipment deliveries are not a guarantee of security for Ukraine. According to him, such guarantees can only come from the international community and major powers, while Budapest is not in a position to play a decisive role in this matter.
This is not the first such statement from the Hungarian prime minister. In May, Magyar had already said that Russia and Ukraine must reach a peace agreement that should include real security guarantees for Kyiv. At the time, he promised that when the parties are ready to make peace, Budapest would “offer them all the necessary assistance” to achieve first a ceasefire and then a full agreement.
