Zelensky: Ukraine received American Patriot missiles on June 14

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told journalists that on June 14 the country received a package of American Patriot missiles.

According to Zelensky, that is why Ukraine “had something to shoot down the ballistics with.” On the same day, the president posted on his X social media page accusing the Russian side of striking Kyiv, called on G7 countries to increase pressure on Russia, and urged greater assistance to Ukraine in the area of air defense.

Russia’s Ministry of Defense, for its part, stated that the Armed Forces of Russia carried out a massive strike with precision weapons against facilities of the defense-industrial complex in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Dnipropetrovsk — in response to what the ministry described as terrorist attacks by Ukraine.

On the night of June 14, Ukrainian drones attacked several Russian regions. In Oryol, several people were injured after a UAV struck a residential building. In the Yaroslavl region, fuel storage facilities were targeted. According to Russia’s Ministry of Defense, air defense forces destroyed 249 Ukrainian drones overnight over Russian regions, Crimea, and the waters of the Sea of Azov.

Earlier, Zelensky visited the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra following a fire.
