A resident of Konotop to stand trial for attempting to smuggle a military-age man out of the country through fictitious paternity

The Konotop District Prosecutor’s Office has filed an indictment against a 47-year-old woman who faces between 7 and 9 years in prison.

This was reported by the Sumy Oblast Prosecutor’s Office.

According to investigators, the accused offered a man the opportunity to register as the father of her two children for 200,000 hryvnias. This would have allowed him to leave the country without hindrance during the period of martial law.

Law enforcement officers from the Konotop District Police Department intercepted the scheme while the documents were being processed at a government office, where the woman was helping the man with the paperwork.

Earlier, in Kyiv Oblast, doctors were exposed for issuing fictitious psychiatric diagnoses to draft evaders.
