Recruitment officers broke a man’s ribs during mobilization and held him at a military enlistment center for three weeks until they healed
01.07.2026 10:02The mobilised single father from Kryvyi Rih has already been released from the temporary detention centre and is now home with his five-year-old daughter.
The news was first reported by Telegram channels.
According to their information, the man was allowed to return home by the commander of the 475th Separate Assault Regiment, where he had been assigned to serve after mobilisation. Shortly afterwards, the man himself confirmed the reports by recording a video after being released from the army and reunited with his daughter.
According to the 34-year-old man, the command of the 475th Regiment released him temporarily while his documents are being processed.
“I would like to thank the command of the 475th Regiment, where I ended up. The command responded promptly to the situation and provided full support. I am now home and will continue dealing with this matter in order to see it through to the end,” the man said.
The Dnipro Regional Territorial Recruitment Centre and Social Support Centre explained his mobilisation by saying that he was not entitled to a deferment because the court ruling on his divorce did not state that the child was dependent on him. However, Member of Parliament Oleksii Honcharenko published the court decision, which explicitly states that the young child would live with her father.
The ruling also notes that the mother does not take part in raising the girl and does not live in Ukraine. According to information from the enforcement service, the woman has not paid child support at all since 2024.
It should be recalled that the man was mobilised in Kryvyi Rih while his daughter was at kindergarten.
The girl spent the night at the home of the kindergarten director and was later picked up by her paternal grandfather. However, the elderly man had not been in contact with his son or granddaughter for three years, and it was unclear how he would be able to care for the child.
