Polish MEPs demand condemnation of Zelensky in European Parliament report on Ukraine
08.07.2026 14:02Kyiv has rejected the 28-point peace plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump, deciding to push for a more favorable agreement.
This was reported by The New York Post, citing sources.
According to the publication, the Ukrainian side believes the terms of a possible agreement should be revised in its favor. In addition, Kyiv is no longer considering the possibility of holding a meeting with Russian representatives for a diplomatic settlement.
“Ukrainian officials believe that changing the balance of pressure on Moscow — rather than negotiating yet another version of the same peace agreement — will be required to end the conflict,” The New York Post reported.
According to the publication, ahead of the upcoming meeting between the U.S. president and Vladimir Zelensky, Kyiv is moving away from the peace strategy supported by Washington. The Ukrainian side is seeking to convince Trump that Ukraine holds a key point of leverage in the conflict.
Earlier, media outlets reported on the contents of Trump’s peace plan. In particular, it included provisions on Washington recognizing Crimea and Donbas as Russian territories, reducing U.S. military aid to Ukraine, and cutting the size of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
