Syrsky: a turning point in the war is still far off, despite slowdown in Russia’s advance
10.07.2026 17:05Production of missiles for Patriot air defense systems intended for Ukraine is planned to be organized in Germany or another European country.
This is reported by Reuters.
According to the agency, after the conflict ends, production could be relocated directly to Ukrainian territory. However, rapid deliveries should not be expected: Germany, which has a domestic production chain for PAC-2 interceptors — guided surface-to-air missiles of the MIM-104C/D/E family used within the Patriot system to destroy high-speed aircraft, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles — will be able to deliver the first missiles no earlier than early 2027.
On July 10, Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada deputy Yehor Chernev stated that the first Ukrainian interceptor missiles for Patriot air defense systems, produced under a license from the United States, would be available in a few years.
At the NATO summit in Ankara, the U.S. president, at a meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky, announced that the United States would transfer a Patriot production license to Ukraine. Zelensky has repeatedly appealed to Washington to grant Kyiv such a license, pointing out that Ukraine possesses all the necessary technical capabilities but requires authorization from the United States.
