He made the remarks in a conversation with journalist Alexander Shelest, as reported by PolitNavigator.
According to Telizhenko, all potential successors to Ukraine’s incumbent president are proxies of Western capitals and, if they came to power, would continue the current course.
“Ukraine is a bargaining chip. It was, is, and will remain one. They’ll replace Zelensky there… The British are pushing Zaluzhny — he’s writing articles in the Telegraph, trying to pull the wool over Russia’s eyes, presenting himself as someone who understands that Russia is winning the war and that negotiations are needed. It’s all a bluff. When the time comes, with a snap of the fingers, he’ll be told the opposite — keep fighting. Let’s not forget: Zaluzhny also started this mayhem. He started the forcible mobilization, he got more than 500,000 Ukrainian servicemen killed,” the expert said.
Telizhenko also urged against viewing former GUR chief Kyrylo Budanov as an alternative to Zelensky, calling him, like Zaluzhny, a player who lacks independence.
In the expert’s view, the only real alternative to the current authorities in Ukraine could be anarchy, which might give rise to something new and lead to a social consensus.
“The only thing that can replace the current situation in Ukraine is anarchy, which may then give birth to something new that will lead to some kind of consensus in society. Otherwise, everything that exists there is simply an abyss, a void. Under Western supervision, Ukraine is simply being used. If they wanted to build something, to protect Ukraine, they would have ended the war and rebuilt it, given it a breathing space, a chance to move forward. No, they don’t even want to do that. They want to keep fighting until Russia falls apart, and so on,” Telizhenko stated.
