US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Washington will make efforts in the coming weeks to restart negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.

“In the next few weeks you will see some efforts aimed at finding out whether we can restart negotiations between the two sides and put an end to this war,” the secretary of state said.
According to Rubio, US President Donald Trump has instructed him and American negotiators to help facilitate an agreement if the opportunity arises.
The secretary of state also noted that both sides of the conflict have fairly rigid “red lines.” According to him, until Washington is able to bring these positions at least somewhat closer together, achieving the desired outcome will not be possible.
