
Turkey’s foreign minister says Russia could use nuclear weapons if faced with a “no-way-out situation”
09.08.2026 15:31Russia’s Ministry of Defense announced that port infrastructure in Odessa and the Odessa region had been struck during a nighttime attack.
The statement was published by the ministry’s press service on Telegram.
Ukraine has not confirmed this information.
According to the Russian military ministry, fuel and lubricant depots, military equipment warehouses, and a port transshipment complex were hit at the port of Odessa.
At the port of Chornomorsk, fuel and lubricant depots and military equipment warehouses were also reportedly struck.
In addition, fuel tanks intended for the Armed Forces of Ukraine were allegedly hit in the settlements of Belyary and Novye Belyary, located approximately 27–28 kilometers northeast of the port of Odessa.
Russia’s Ministry of Defense specified that the strikes were carried out using high-precision air- and ground-based weapons, as well as strike drones. Local community pages report that power outages are occurring in Odessa following the nighttime strikes.
