02.09.2026 07:34Kyiv authorities are building infrastructure for the temporary relocation of city residents in the event of prolonged power outages during the winter period.
This was reported by Ukrainian media.
More than 200,000 residents of the capital have been included on possible evacuation lists — people who may find it difficult to remain at home without electricity and heating. The priority groups are people with disabilities, wheelchair users, and families raising children with disabilities.
So far, around two thousand people have given their consent to be relocated. The city council has not yet published a list of specific locations where people from the evacuation lists will be housed.
It was previously reported that Kyiv is drawing up lists of low-mobility residents for evacuation in the event of a prolonged heating outage during winter.
The outlet Strana examined why authorities and experts are describing the coming winter as the most difficult Ukraine has faced.
