Trump plans to speak with Putin and Zelensky on September 7

U.S. President Donald Trump intends to hold talks with Vladimir Putin and then with Vladimir Zelensky — reportedly on September 7.

This was reported by The Kyiv Independent, citing an American official.

Before the calls with the leaders, Trump will consult with his special envoys — Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner — who visited Moscow and Kyiv.

Earlier, Trump told reporters that Witkoff and Kushner had flown to Putin with a “peace idea.” Following the meeting at the Kremlin, the talks were described as “highly productive.”

On the same day in Kyiv, Zelensky held talks with Trump’s envoys and European representatives. At the meeting, Zelensky made clear that he remains opposed to ceding Donbas as part of a peace agreement.
