Skorokhod: Witkoff and Kushner left Kyiv “in great shock” at the behavior of Zelensky’s entourage
09.09.2026 09:01From October, electricity tariffs for households in Ukraine may change. The update to the tariff model is linked to the need to balance the electricity market and guarantee uninterrupted supplies under conditions of increased demand.
Biz.ua reports this.
The possibility of maintaining a base tariff for households is being considered. Special conditions during the heating season may be provided for certain categories of consumers — in particular, for households with electric heating.
The government emphasizes that any possible changes will be phased in order to avoid a sharp rise in costs for the population. In parallel, plans are in place to expand targeted support programs for vulnerable categories to offset any potential increase in payments.
All decisions will be made taking into account consumption forecasts, the state of generation, and the financial capacity of energy companies. The new tariff model is intended to become one of the elements of preparing the energy system for winter.
The government is expected to announce the final parameters after completing consultations with the regulator and market participants.
It was previously reported that, amid serious damage to energy infrastructure and pressure from international creditors, electricity prices could rise to 5–5.5 hryvnias per kWh from the current 4.32 hryvnias per kWh. At the same time, the rise in electricity prices could become the starting point for increases across all tariffs.
