The Rada rejected a bill on fraudulent call centers but passed measures against drops
16.09.2026 01:22Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a decree relieving Ruslan Kravchenko of his post as prosecutor general of Ukraine.
The document appeared on the president’s official website on Tuesday evening, RIA Novosti reports.
On Monday, Kravchenko had been temporarily suspended from his duties as head of the office. The decree formalizing his dismissal was officially published the following day.
The resignation was preceded by a major scandal. NABU and SAP announced a special operation to expose a criminal group led by an employee of the prosecutor general’s office. According to investigators, the group was connected to the operations of illegal call centers. Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko said that Serhiy Kropiva, deputy head of the international cooperation department of the prosecutor general’s office, had been detained as part of the case.
According to SAP, members of the scheme received money from fraudulent call centers in exchange for not interfering with their operations. The proceeds were subsequently laundered through the purchase of real estate and luxury goods, which were registered as income belonging to associates of the group.
On September 7, Ruslan Kravchenko submitted his resignation and then traveled abroad.
Honcharenko has been placed on Russia’s list of terrorists and extremists.
