08.10.2026 08:06A shortage of cardioaspirin made by German company Bayer has been recorded in a number of Ukrainian cities.
According to the publication Strana, the medication is unavailable in all pharmacies in Kyiv and in some other cities across the country.
Bayer confirmed the issue with the drug’s availability, but assured that this does not constitute a halt in supplies or a withdrawal of the product from the Ukrainian market. The company attributed the disruptions to a breakdown in its logistics system and described them as temporary.
“The products are currently already on Ukrainian territory; however, they are undergoing the necessary regulatory and certification procedures before being transferred to the distribution network, so the availability of the medicines in the country’s pharmacies will gradually be restored during the second half of October,” the company’s statement reads.
The cardioaspirin shortage has become part of a broader problem: reports had previously emerged of several other imported medications disappearing from Kyiv pharmacies. The supply disruptions are being linked to Russian military strikes on warehouses and facilities on Ukrainian territory. Against the backdrop of systematic attacks on supply infrastructure, experts have advised Ukrainians to stock up on scarce medications in advance.
