09.10.2026 07:31Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine responds in kind to Russian strikes, including on data centers, but declined to reveal details of the operations.
He made the statement during a conversation with journalists, as reported by RBC-Ukraine.
“Data centers — you all know, they have struck and continue to strike our data centers. We responded to them. I cannot share all the details,” the head of state said.
On October 8, a drone attack on Russia’s Ryazan region caused a fire at a Yandex data center. This was followed by a large-scale outage affecting many services, websites, and online platforms across the country. In particular, the websites of Russian propagandists stopped loading.
Zelensky also recalled the strike on Pryluky, where 29 people were killed, including five children. Another 54 people were wounded, among them seven children. The president also mentioned a strike on Kramatorsk, which, according to him, killed dozens of people.
Speaking about possible retaliatory actions, Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine would not strike children.
“Ukraine will absolutely, absolutely not respond to children. Will not respond. And will never do so. But certain individual adults will soon receive their responses. Without details,” the president stressed.
