US may halt intelligence sharing with Ukraine over strikes on Russian oil refineries
11.10.2026 13:02Claudia Wittig, deputy head of the Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW) faction in the Saxony-Anhalt state parliament, has called on Germany to conclude an agreement with Russia on diesel fuel supplies — modeled on the deal recently announced by U.S. President Donald Trump.
She made the statement to Reuters.
“Germany also needs a diesel deal with Russia,” Wittig said.
According to her, prices at German gas stations have become “scandalous,” and the sanctions policy toward Russia has completely failed.
“The sanctions policy against Russia, which is harming primarily ourselves, has been a complete failure,” the BSW deputy leader said.
Wittig called for going beyond diesel and resuming regular supplies of Russian oil and gas — including for the sake of saving German industry.
Earlier, Trump announced an agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the supply of Russian diesel to the United States. The German government, meanwhile, stated that it would continue its sanctions policy against Russia.
