Belarus condemns NATO plan for repelling a Russian attack
15.10.2026 19:02Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he has no intention of taking part in a deal between the United States and Russia on diesel fuel supplies to global and American markets, and called on Donald Trump not to involve him in these matters.
He made the statement in an interview with the Financial Times.
“That is President Trump’s decision. We don’t want to be part of any diesel deals. I don’t want to be involved in this. If they (the Russians) attack us, we will respond. That is our rule. Don’t drag us into any diesel deals,” Zelensky said.
At the same time, the Ukrainian president outlined the conditions under which Kyiv is prepared to respond to requests from the American side.
“If you come to us for help in resolving this situation, then of course, as partners, we will help, but we ask you for an energy ceasefire. If this is not an energy ceasefire and it doesn’t depend on you — fine,” the president said.
In the same interview, Zelensky announced that Ukraine is resuming strikes on Russian oil refineries. He had previously described the Washington-Moscow diesel fuel agreement as a weak solution.
